I’ve learned that the wilderness is a place of unknowing and undoing. Initially, this place is disorienting and lonely. Confusion, fear and peace comes and goes in sporadic waves. Surrendering to the wilderness is a process that is painful and incremental, because our self-preserving nature has the propensity to soothe the discomfort of not knowing. However, once we begin to allow this place have its intended affect os us, we actually begin to love it rather than hate it.

Personally, I entered into a wilderness chapter, beginning in 2020, where God began untethering me from anything that was taking the place of fulfillment that I could only find in Him. God also began stripping away any source comfort, identity, security & hope that could only be found in Him. It has been an arduous journey, but a necessary one! During these last years, I’ve written many songs along the way. Some of them you’ve heard, and some you haven’t- until now .
These songs “The Wilderness Diaries”, are a collection of prayers; deep thoughts, cries, pleas- anything I’d write in a prayer journal as a conversation with God. These are songs that for one reason of the other, never made it onto a proper “record” or “project”, but they are some of the most important songs to me personally that I’ve ever written.
