Robert Ross:
My faith is at the center of how I see the Christmas season. I love the lights, the music, the energy—everything that makes the holidays fun—but underneath all of that is the reminder of why we celebrate in the first place. For me, Christmas is a time to slow down, reconnect, and remember the gift of Jesus coming into the world. That message of love and hope shapes the way I approach the holidays and the way I write. Even when a song like “Rockin’ Christmas” is upbeat and playful, the heart behind it comes from a place of gratitude and faith.

Christmas is ultimately about the birth of Christ. How do you balance creating a fun, festive song while still honoring the deeper spiritual meaning of the holiday?

Robert Ross:
It’s about blending joy with purpose. I wanted “Rockin’ Christmas” to feel like a celebration—families dancing around the tree, Santa jamming on a guitar, people smiling again. But I never forget what the season is rooted in. The fun and the spirit go hand in hand. Robert Ross:
Absolutely. I’ve had seasons in my life where Christmas didn’t feel bright. My faith kept me grounded and reminded me that even in hard times, God is still working. That perspective helps shape my songwriting. I always try to bring hope into my music, even in the fun songs. I want listeners to feel that they’re not alone, that things can get better, and that there’s something bigger than their current struggle. My faith taught me that light always shows up—and I try to write songs that carry that light.

Robert Ross:

Robert Ross:
Success is exciting, but it doesn’t define me. My faith keeps me centered. I try to stay focused on gratitude rather than pressure. I don’t take any opportunity for granted, and I don’t forget where the gifts come from. Staying grounded means keeping my circle close, carving out time with God, and remembering that the goal isn’t fame—it’s impact. If my music reaches people and lifts them up, that’s the real win.

Creativity is often described as a gift. How do you sense God working through your music, whether in the writing process or in how listeners respond?

Robert Ross:
There are moments in the writing process where something just “clicks,” where a line or melody comes out of nowhere and hits deeper than I expected. I don’t take credit for those moments—I feel like God nudges those ideas into place. And when people tell me that a song helped them through something or brought joy into their home, that’s when I really feel God working through it. I’m just the messenger; He brings the meaning.

What role does prayer—or simply quiet time with God—play in helping you navigate the pressures of being an artist, performer, and family man?

Robert Ross:
Quiet time with God is my reset button. Life gets loud—deadlines, shows, projects, family responsibilities. But when I step back and pray, it brings everything into focus. It reminds me that I don’t have to carry all of this on my own. Those moments help me stay patient, grounded, and present. They also recharge my creativity. Some of my best ideas come after just taking a moment to breathe and listen.

Looking ahead, how do you hope your music reflects the values of faith, compassion, and encouragement in the years to come?

Robert Ross:
I hope my music continues to lift people up. Whether it’s a fun Christmas song, a heartfelt ballad, or something completely different, I want listeners to feel encouraged, supported, and understood. My faith calls me to spread love and hope, and I want my music to do the same. As my career grows, I don’t ever want to lose that foundation.
